Department of Commerce (ISM, A&F, HONS) organized virtual Orientation programme for first year B.com ISM, A & F and Hons students on 14-09-2021 from 10.00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The main objectives of this program is to explore the industrial expectation and how to achieve the expected goals for B.com Students. The program consists of two sessions. Session I was Industry expert talk and Session II was Placement coordinator talk. Dr. M. Suresh, Head In charge – Department of Information Systems Management delivered the welcome address and highlighted the program objectives. Dr. R Aarthi Alamelu hosted the event with enthusiasm. Mrs. A. Meera, Assistant Professor introduced the Session I guest and Dr. V Deepa Head In charge- A & F introduced the session II guest to the gatherings. Session I was delivered by an eminent speaker Mr. Magaranth Jayasigh, Technology Manager, Multinational Bank, Chennai. He shared his personal Industrial experience and Industrial expectations to the students. He Enlighted many industrial expectations at the time of interview and work apart from academic. He suggests many steps for campus to corporate. Session II was delivered by Dr. Rengaraj, Assistant professor and placement coordinator, Department of Commerce SRM IST. He explained detailed about Placement class details, interview techniques, procedure for placement. He gave ideas, steps to improvement for personality development to the students. All the session was interesting, informative and interactive. Students also participated enthusiastically and clarified their doubts relevant to subject. Nearly 140+ students participated. The program was end up with formal vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. A. Meera, Assistant Professor.
