Overview on Indirect Taxes and GST

The Department of Commerce conducted a one day webinar on virtual mode titled “Overview on Indirect Taxes and GST” for teaching fraternity and for college students. The Resource person, Ms.R.Akshaya spoke on the Importance of GST, Electronic Invoice, Unique Reference Number, Goods and Services Tax (GST)  in 2017 under their “one nation, one tax” reform to unite different types of taxes in the ambit of a single tax system, Goods and Services classified under GST,  Purpose of GST for consumers and tax-payers, Job Opportunities in Indirect Taxation Field, Internship provided in Ernst and Young. The online session was attended by around 100 participants/students. The presentation was followed by a Q & A session.The webinar was well-coordinated by the faculty members Dr.G.Uma Maheswari and Dr.M.Jayashree.
