INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2022
SRM Institute of Science and Technology -Department of Visual Communication, Ramapuram Campus organized Canvas Painting Competition for girl students in Gallery Hall,3rd Floor, Block V, on March 08, 2022 on the eve of International Women’s day. The event began with the lighting of Kuthu vilakku by Chief Guest of the women’s day celebration Ms Deepika, Vijay TV Popular Disc Jockey, Dr N Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Institutions Trichy & Ramapuram, Dr V Subbiah Bharathi, Director, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram, Dr C Sundar, Dean, Faculty of Science & Humanities, SRMIST, Ramapuram, Dr Dhamu, Project Director, Media Sciences, Mr S Parthasarathy, HOD/Vis Com followed by distribution of canvas and painting materials to the participants.
Painting competition organised for female student participants from SRM Ramapuram campus and for students from other colleges witnessed the participation of 14 groups of participants comprising of 3 to 5 members in a group from different colleges in and around Chennai and 6 groups of students from Ramapuram campus. Stella Marys College for women won the first prize. Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Porur won the second prize and SDNB College for Women, Chromepet won the third prize in the Inter collegiate level.Fashion Designing department grabbed the first prize, Commerce department won the second prize and Vis Com department won the third prize in the Intra Collegiate level. Event ended with distribution of prizes to winners of the competition by Woman Entrepreneur & Makeover Artist Ms N D Ashmitha and Dr C Sundar, Dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities.
