SILVER FRAMES 2022
The Department of Visual Communication, College of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram conducted National Level Short Film Competition “Silver Frames 2022” on 24/03/2022. The Short film competition which had a humble beginning in the year 2017 now in the year 2022 has become a synonymous to Short Film Competition, witnessed the participation of 79 Entries from Institutions and colleges across India. Out of 79 entries received for the competition top two movies done by students of SRM Group of Institutions Ramapuram campus and three movies under inter college category were screened at Gallery Hall, 3rd floor, Block V. Dr.C.Sundar, Principal,College of Science and Humanities welcomed the gathering by giving Presidential Address. Actor Anand Nag, Actress Aishwarya, Director Dhamodharan, Editor Rajesh, Music Director Charan and Actor Birla Bose were the guests of honor for the event. They shared their experiences about their movie “Aathmika” which is yet to be released .
Director of the movie Mr. Dhamodharan in his speech encouraged students to make more no of short films to fine tune their creativity and film making skills. Actor Birla Bose in his speech spoke about the need and demand of young and fresh minds for the industry. Winners of the short film competition were awarded with momento and certificates by dignitaries and celebrities who graced the occasion. In the Inter College Category the first prize was bagged by College of Engineering, Trivandrum, second prize by Pondicherry University and third prize by Gurunanak Arts and Science College, Chennai and in Intra College category which is exclusively conducted for SRM Ramapuram Students, First prize was won by team of film makers from MBA Dept., College of Science & Humanities, SRMIST, Ramapuram and second prize by BSc. Visual Communication students, College of Science & Humanities, SRMIST, Ramapuram. Category awards for Best Director,Actor,Actress,Editor,Cinematographer and Music Director was also awarded to the shortlisted students in both Inter and Intra College Categories.
