I- B.A English Students

The college of Science and Humanities, DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND OTHER FOREIGN LANGUAGES organised a Bridge Course on ‘Language and Literature- An Overview’ for I- B.A English Students to enlighten them about the nuances of Language and Literature.

The programme was convened by Dr. G. Immanuel Asst. Prof. & Head i/c, EFL, and Mrs. M. Nathiya Assistant Professor / EFL.

Mrs. M. Nathiya, Asst. Prof./EFL explained the objectives of Bridge Course followed by Session I by Dr. T. Sri Devi, Assistant Professor of English, Department of EFL, SRMIST, Ramapuram. She enlightened the students on the Scopes in B.A English Literature also she highlighted the various fields to pursue their Postgraduation after B.A English.

Session II was conducted by Dr. B. Sridevi, Assistant Professor of English, Department of EFL, SRMIST, in which she deliberated on the topic “Life through Literature; Literature in Life” and motivated the students to learn Literature to analyze life better.

Session III was presented by Mrs. K. C. Mythili, Assistant Professor of English, Department of EFL, SRMIST, She focused on the various Shades of Literature.

Session IV was conducted by Dr. D. Thilagavathi, Assistant Professor of English, Department of EFL, SRMIST in which she deliberated the nuances of Literature with the example: poem Kubla Khan and she advised the students to read literature and live with Literature.

Session V was shared by two Faculty Members one by Dr. V. Amudha Bharathi, Assistant Professor of English, Department of EFL, SRMIST in which insisted on the importance of writing in today’s world also he motivated the students learn more about Caligraphy.
Session V, second session was presented by Dr. Agalya VT Raj, Assistant Professor, Department of EFL, SRMIST. She explained the significance of Pronunciation in daily life also she referred few websites to learn Pronunciation.
Finally the Dr. G. Immanuel, Head i/c /EFL Consolidated the bridge course and highlighted the importance of continuous learning.
