COMMEX’22 REPORT

 

SRM College of Science and Humanities, Department of Commerce Organised COMMEX’22 – An intercollegiate meet for students of Arts and Science today. More than 800 students from 70 colleges participated in the events. A warm welcome address was given by Dr. A. Jayabal, Head Department of commerce. Dr. J. Dhilipan Vice- Principal (Admin) and Dr. N. Asokan Vice -Principal (Academic) felicitated the gathering. Maj. Dr. M. Venkataramanan – Dean, SRM College of Science and Humanities delivered the Special Address and brought out the importance of providing the stage for exhibiting talents of youth and appreciated the department for organising such symposium for providing the opportunity for all the colleges in Chennai to visit the campus and make use of the infrastructure. Mrs. U. Karthigai Selvi, Faculty Co- ordinator introduced the Chief Guest Shri. Sudhakar Sethuraman, Partner, Deloitte. The Chief Guest delivered a spectacular speech on importance of younger generations for future India.

 

 

 

He put forward the ways of channelising the energy for the constructive outcomes. Competitions like Group Dance, Mime, Channel Surfing, Short Video, Make Over, Paper Presentation, Talented Commerzian and Pitch Perfect started following the inaugural function for all the registered students. Celebrities of Television and Cine fame did judge all the participants and announced the winners.

Group dance had totally 137 number of students participation with Mr.Arvind being the judge announced the winners. Avichi College was the winner and DG Vaishnav College was the runner. Make Over event had 39 participants with Ms.Shalini being the judge and winners were SS Jain and Valliammal Colleges. 28 colleges and 77 papers were presented with topics of latest technology. With Dr. Sasirekha consented t be the judge and announced four colleges namely Anna Adharsh, SUSE college, Panimalr Engineering College and Prathyusha Engineering College shared the first four positions respectively. Dr. Tamil A Thomas Kingston, Founder and CEO judged the events Channel Surfing. 63 students from 16 different colleges registered, Patrician College and Avichi Colleges were the winners and runners respectively. Talented Commerzian quiz was judged by Dr. Sarulatha and 112 students from 56 colleges participated. Guru Nanak College was the winner and MCC was the runner of the event. Mr. Tinny Simson judged the event Pitch Perfect and announced Stella Maris as winner and MCC as runner where 40 students contested.  Mr. Jaguvur Thangam consented to be a judge for shirt video and totally 63 videos were played. Mar Gregorius and A M Jain college were the winner and runner of the event. 96 students from 15 different colleges participated In Mime. Mr. Vignesh Anthony being the judge announced Ethiraj College and DG Vaishnav College as winner and runner. Prizes were distributed on the stage by the judges. Commex’ 22 came to an end with the National Anthem.
