The Department of Commerce conducted a one day Seminar Programme on “PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF INSURANCE” “ for B.com General first year students. The resource person, Sri. T. Chidambaram, Development Manager, LIC, Chennai spoke on history of insurance, IRDAI and the scope of various insurance schemes & policies with live examples. A detailed talk about Pension scheme, Underwriting, Ombudsman, Reinsurance, Insurable interest was covered by the speaker in this seminar. The offline session was attended by around 115 students. The presentation was followed by a Q & A session. The seminar event was well-coordinated by the faculty member Dr. A. Jayabal, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce and effectively attended by the students.
