SILVER FRAMES 2023
We the Department of Visual Communication, College of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram conducted International Level Short Film Competition “Silver Frames 2023” on 06th April 2023. The aim of this short film competition is to encourage the practice of film making, acting and appreciation of films among the college students. This event generally involves the potential film- makers from all colleges, to explore the creative side and create new short films.
The Short film competition which had a humble beginning with a participation of few numbers of contestants in the year 2017 now this year 2023 it has become a synonymous to Short Film Competition saw the participation of 40 entries from abroad [International entries] and 107 entries from general category across India and 45 entries from SRM. The Inaugural function was graced by our guests of honor Film Directors R.K.Selvamani and R.V.Udayakumar. In the beginning of the event Dr.V.Prabakaran, HOD of Visual Communication welcomed the gathering followed by Presidential address by Maj.Dr.M.Venkataramanan, Dean, College of Science and Humanities. The dignitaries started the event with lighting of kuthuvilakku. Our department magazine “Reflections” was released during the event.
Actor John Vijay, Director Mithran Jawahar,Cinematographer Omprakash and Editor Pradeep E.Raghav were the chief guest for the event. Best three short films from each category were awarded by the chief guest. Category awards for the Best Actor, Actress, Director, Cinematographer, Editor were also given. Memento for sponsors and juries were presented by the dignitaries. Viscom students did cultural performances and entertained the crowd.The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.P.Yuvarani,Event coordinator. The event was a grand success and students celebrated the end session with dance & music.
