5- Day National Level Workshop on Entrepreneurial skill development

The Department of Commerce conducted a five day national level workshop from 14/3/2023 to 18/3/2013 on titled “Entrepreneurial Skill Development“ in collaboration with EDII, Gujarat for students of second year B.Com to enhance their exposure on entrepreneurial development. The Resource persons Dr. Karl Marx, Dr. M. Ramanan, Mr. Vanarasan and Mr. Shibin Mohammed spoke on starting the business and the importance of the net development.The online session was attended by around 100 participants.The presentation was followed by a Q & A session.The webinar/workshop/event was well-coordinated by the faculty membersDr. Kabirdoss Devi and Dr. Ramu Vasu.

Dr. Karl Marx spoke on starting a business in fish farming. He gave full report on the expenses and the profit that could be made from the fish farming. Students also visited as a start-up tour to his fish farm and had an idea on starting fish farm and overcoming the

Mr. Ramanan handled sessions on arranging funds for the business and brought out a note on the various schemes available for students under government schemes. He motivated students to start a business and ways of seeking financial help to overcome the challenges.

Mr. Vanarasan explained his journey with his business. He told the inspiration and the family support which was contributing to his success. He persistently stressed the importance of continuing the business whatever may be the hardships faced.

The final day was concluded with Mr. Shibin from EDII explaining the institutional support for the start-ups. He brought out various factors and the entrepreneurial growth in India in the last one decade. The workshop concluded with question and answer session.
