Description of the event:

  The Department of Biotechnology conducted   a   one   day   webinar   on   14.05.2020 titled ‘A global perspective of Molecular Diagnostic for COVID:19 – It’s strength and weakness’ for UG/PG students, research scholars and teaching fraternity. The Resource person, Dr. Sahaya PravinLaboratory Manager, Specialized Medical Solutions, Qatar started his lecture with the introduction of COVID:19 and current global impact. Later, he explained the various diagnostics methods and explained why PCR is essential tool for diagnosis of COVID-19. The online session was attended by around 108 participants from various institutions. The presentation was followed by a Q & A session. The webinar was convened by Dr. T. Sekar, HOD/Biotechnology and well-coordinated by the faculty members Dr. S. Suresh, Assistant Professor and Dr. A. Rajasekar, Assistant Professor. E-certificates were mailed to all the participants.
