About Department of Biotechnology
The emergence of biotechnology discipline is a fast growing and evolving field in life science, which imparts the need for developing innovative technological interventions to problems in health, environment and food safety. So, the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram started the Department of Biotechnology in 2019 under Science and Humanities and has been offering B.Sc. Biotechnology programme with key differentiator curriculum and syllabi crafted to impart current advancement and understanding about biotechnology along with basic knowledge about research. Thus, providing multi-disciplinary applications in advanced and emerging areas of Medical, Agriculture, Pharmaceutical and Food industries. Also, the department constantly provides the latest developments in the fields of healthcare, diagnostic and therapeutic, plant and animal sciences, and environmental sectors along with the core subjects.
