PROJECT DEMONSTRATION IN ROBOTIC PROCES AUTOMATION (RPA)

DATE : 19.03.2021 FRIDAY | TIME: 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM

Guest Speaker: MR C ARUN KARTHIK, SENIOR MANAGER-ANATON GLOBAL-CHENNAI

The Department of Computer Science & Applications has organized Industry Connect Club – One Day Seminar On Project Demonstration In Robotic Proces Automation (RPA)

WELCOME ADDRESS: DR J DHILIPAN- HOD-MCA & VICE PRINCIPAL ADMIN

Dr.J.Dhilipan- Vice Principal Admin and HOD/MCA presented the Welcome Address.

During the address he thanked the chief guest for accepting our  invitation in the pandemic situation and that too for addressing the students in conventional mode .He added that RPA is now the hot cake of the industry which is used in developing projects. The Department has already signed MoU with Anatan Global and more numbers of activities have been conducted through this MoU.

The purpose of the event is to bridge the gap between industry academia as per the expectations of the industries. To fulfil  this we are conducting two workshops on emerging technologies in career opportunities for the benefit of the participants. He concluded his address by requesting the participants to make use of the forum to elevate their skillsets

TECHNICAL ADDRESS: MR C ARUN KARTHIK, SENIOR MANAGER-ANATON GLOBAL-CHENNAI

MR C ARUN KARTHIK, SENIOR MANAGER-ANATON GLOBAL-CHENNAI started the session with an introduction about RPA. He added that Robotic process automation is a form of business process automation technology based on metaphorical software robots or on artificial intelligence /digital workers. It is sometimes referred to as software robotics.

He then discussed about various technologies that are related to RPA: RPA evolved from three key technologies: screen scraping, workflow automation and artificial intelligence. Screen scraping is the process of collecting screen display data from a legacy application so that the data can be displayed by a more modern user interface

To make a successful bank, transaction is important. He then narrated how in 1950 supercomputer and mainframe computers are used for transaction processing.

In addition he described the role of Cobol which was used at that time. However In 1980 c and c++ are used where we moved towards Object orient programming

He then explained  about Applications of AI and RPA- RPA can automate all the rule-based tasks, and AI can bridge the gap where RPA falls short. RPA deals with structured data. AI is used to gather insights from semi-structured and unstructured data in text, scanned documents, webpages, and PDFs

  • Role of Iot
  • Recent trends in RPA
  • He concluded his lecture by explaining about the following
  • Business gets protective while we use RPA
  • Artificial Intelligence methodologies required for automation

Five major tools used by various organizations across the world:

  • RPA Blue Prism.
  • UiPath.
  • Automation Anywhere.
  • Kofax Kapow.
  • NICE.

UiPath Studio is advanced automation software that gives everyone, from business users to advanced RPA developers, the right automation canvas to build great software robots—and organizations the right governance tools to manage them all.

He concluded his lecture by explaining about

  • Web application management
  • Open image attachment
  • Read and write of a database

Features of RPA

  • Rich-analytical Suite.
  • Security.
  • Simple Bot Creation Interface.
  • Source Control.
  • Hosting and Deployment Option.
  • security
  • 24 x 7 availability

Then the entire session was opened to the audience for clarification of their queries

MS.Anjali Kumari, I MCA student proposed the vote of thanks

The event was attended by around 100 participants and coordinated by Dr.P.Sudha-AP/MCA
