REPORT ON THE GUEST LECTURE “COSTING IN BUSINESS WORLD”

CMA PADMAVATHI NARAYANAN practicing COST ACCOUNTANT

Department of Commerce organised a guest lecture titled “COSTING IN BUSINESS WORLD” on 3^rd Sep 2021 from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm through zoom.  This virtual guest lecture was conducted to make the students understand the need of costing in the real world.  Ms. A. Fathima Banu addressed to the guest and the students with welcome speech and introduced the guest CMA PADMAVATHI NARAYANAN practicing Cost Accountant and her achievements to the participants.  Later on, the guest took over the session and started interacting with the students with her colourful presentation which gave a visual treat to the students. She explained the importance of costing and how it is seen from the outside world. The works of the cost accountant was explained in detail to make the student to have a very good insight in costing. Zoom link was circulated to students prior and 120 participants were present on the day and made themselves as a beneficiary. Vote of thanks addressed by Ms. R. Revathi, thanked the SRM Ramapuram management and The Head, Department of commerce Dr. A. Jayabal for their tremendous support in organising this event.  The program was hosted by Ms. A. Fathima Banu, Assistant Professor and Ms. R. Revathi, Assistant Professor.
