INTERNATIONAL GUEST LECTURE
ON
SCOPE OF MEDICAL/BIOTECHNOLOGY IN AUSTRALIA
The Department of Biotechnology, College of Science and Humanities and International Relations (Ramapuram Division), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, conducted an international guest lecture on Scopes of Medical/Biotechnology in Australia on 14th August, 2023. The session was stared with welcome address given by Dr. M. Kamaraj, HoD (i/c)/Biotechnology, followed by felicitated Maj. Dr. M. Venkatramanan, Dean (S&H) and Dr.Abraham Benjamin Samuel, Asst. Director, International Relations. Guest was Introduced by Dr.S.Suresh, AP/Biotechnology and IR Coordinator (S&H). A foreign speaker Dr. Karen Lower, Associate Professor, College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University, Australia, exclusively for the students of B.Sc. Biotechnology. She gave an interestingly interactive session for the students and faculty members to learn and understand more about the Public health sectors as well as different biotechnological fields. She had also introduced a few question-answer sessions between the talk, to engage the students and understand the procedure of drug discovery. Few appreciation gifts were also given to the winners at the end of the session to encourage the enthusiastic students to understand more about the subject topic. As Genetics was her major, most of the questions were based on the Genetic sequencing and the protein codon sequencing. The session was end with vote of thanks by Dr.G.Priya, AP/Biotechnology.
