The Department of Commerce – Hononours& Corporate Secretaryship organised a Seven day National Level workshop from 20.02.2023 to 28.02.2023 titled
“Research Methodology in Social Sciences” for studentsand Research scholars.The National-level workshop was started with TamilthaiVazhthu followed by a welcome address
DAY 1 – 20.02.2023
The first-day workshop was conducted on the topic “Ethics Research & Publications”. The Resource person for that day was Dr. Seema Sharma . She is the Dean i/c and professor at Assam Downtown University, Guwahati, Assam. It was a brief session on the principles to be followed while conducting research and the attitude of the researcher followed by the publication method. The session was attended by 56 participants and it was conducted from 11 am-12 pm
DAY-2 – 21.02.2023
The second-day workshop was conducted on the topic “Introduction & research design” . The speaker for that day was Dr. Gurulakshmi. She is an Associate Professor at New Horizon College of Engineering, Banglore, Karnataka. It was a brief session on the definition and meaning of research, objectives, types of research, and types of research design. The session was attended by 60 participants. It was conducted from 11 am – 12 pm.
DAY 3 – 22.02.2023
The third-day workshop was conducted on the topic “ Structure Literature Review through Mendeley & Latex” The speaker of the day was Dr. T. Subbu Lakshmi.She is an Assistant Professor at Sri Paramakalyani College Tenkasi District. It was a brief session on the review of literature , Mendeley and latex method, and how to analyze the review of the literature. The session was attended by 60 participants. It was conducted from 11 am – 12 pm
DAY 4- 23.03.2023
The fourth-day workshop was conducted on the topic “ Sampling techniques & Design” . The speaker of the day was Dr. K. Navarathinam. She is an Assistant Professor at the American College, Madurai. It was a brief session on types of sampling techniques and design and its applicability. The session was attended by 33 participants. It was conducted from11 am -12 pm.
DAY 5 – 24.02.2023
The fifth–day workshop was conducted on the topic “ Epistemological issue in Social Science research.” The speaker for that day was Dr. N.Kamala. She is the Principal of Sri Sarada College for Women ,Tirunelveli. It was a brief session about the introduction and types of issues along with a description of social research. The session was attended by 60 participants . It was conducted from 11 am – 12 pm.
DAY 6 – 27.02.2023
The sixth–day workshop was conducted on the topic “ Data Analysis & Interpretation.” The speaker for the day was Dr. Mercy Sarah Rosan . She is the Former principal of Christopher Arts & Science College for women, Nagercoil. It was brief session about the methods of data, types of analysis , and various statistical tools for interpretation. The session was attended by 60 participants. It was conducted from 11 am – 12 pm.
DAY 7 – 28.02.2023
The seventh-day workshop was conducted on the topic “ Ethical norms in Report Writing” . The speaker for the day was Dr. A. Aruna Devi. She is an Associate Professor & HOD OF Sri Sarada College for Women , Tirunelveli. It was a brief session about the principles to be followed while preparing reports to achieve effective presentations. The session was attended by 60 participants. It was conducted from 11 am – 12 pm.
