Mrs Goushalya Kothai started her address with an introduction of the theme and today’s agenda. She then explained about the importance of Data Science- Data science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data, and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains. She then discussed What is data? – What is AI? – That basically means data that lives in a giant spreadsheet, and the techniques for dealing with unstructured data are a little bit different than the techniques for dealing with structured data.
