MoU – Department of Bio-technology Report

The Department of Biotechnology, SRMIST, Ramapuram has conducted MoU signing with Hubert Enviro Care Systems (P) Ltd., Chennai on 30-09-2021, Thursday. The MoU’s were signed and exchanged in presence of Dr.Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Institution, Ramapuram & Trichy campus, and representatives from these companies.      Dr.C. Sundar- Principal, College of Science and Humanities presented the welcome address. He thanked the management for providing us the opportunity to sign MoU with this company. Sir, welcomed the representatives from the company and introduced them. Also stated that this is the 23rd MoU signing ceremony of FSH. Presidential Address was given by Dr.Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Institution, Ramapuram & Trichy campus. Sir, Addressing the gathering before signing the MoU, Sir said that there are huge opportunities for Biotechnology to get funding from DBT, and the Ministry of Science & Technology. This MOU lays the foundation for plenty of opportunities for our students. Our focus is on combining academic rigor with hands-on training with industries. The students will work on real-life projects with the latest technologies. Dr.V.Subbiah Bharathi- Director offered felicitations. He congratulated the Dean FSH and Heads of the department for taking efforts for signing MoU. He added that in the past six months, the FSH has come out with more than ten MoU’s. Further, he highlighted the glimpses of SRMIST, which is a multidisciplinary University, and explained the achievements done by the Biotechnology department in a short period. He concluded his address by stating that within five years more companies will be operating from our campus and live projects will be given to the students as well as faculty. Dr.Venkatachalapathy- Dean-Research offered felicitations. During his address, he highlighted that industry tie-ups will help apply research proposals under a joint venture. Dr.Ravi, Chairperson, and representative of Hubert Enviro Care Systems (P) Ltd., Chennai-stated that students with wide knowledge in biotechnology can do wonders in the areas of environmental-related issues where a lot of projects are available. Also, Industrial facilities and joined ventures will greatly support the institution to approach funding agencies. Dr.N.Asokan, VP-Academic, FSH, Dr.Suresh.
