REPORT ON FIVE-DAY INTERNATIONAL FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 

DATE: 09.3.2021 & 13.3.2021

The Department of English and other Foreign Languages of College of Science and Humanities conducted a Five-Day International Faculty Development Programme on Language and Literature: Tools to Understand Society and Culture.

The FDP was conducted from 09.03 .2021 to 13.3.2021 through YouTube Stream yard. The programme was convened by Dr. V.Rema ,Prof. and Head, Department of EFL.The programme was coordinated by Dr.T.Sri Devi, Assistant Professor(Sr.G) and Ms.Kavitha.K Assistant Professor(Sr.G),Dept. of EFL.For all the days, 260 participants attended the FDP with much enthusiasm.

Dr. Sangeetha Mukherjee, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of English, VIT, Vellore was the resource person for the First day (09.03. 2021) programme. The resource person  has given her presentation on Language, Culture And Society.

JOJI JOHN PANICKER, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department Of English, CMS College Kottayam (Autonomous),Kerala, was the resource person for the Second day (10.03. 2021) programme. The resource person has given his presentation on Cultured Bodies: Human Body as a site of Social Representations.

SUJATA CHAKRAVORTHI,ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN ENGLISH,DAYANAND ARYA KANYA MAHAVIDYALAYA, NAGPUR, was the resource person for the Third day (11.03. 2021) programme. The resource person has given her presentation on Empowerment And Emancipation of Women As Reflected In Fiction.

ARCHANA M. SARDHANA,ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR & HEAD,DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH,ANNA ADARSH COLLEGE OF WOMEN,CHENNAI, was the resource person for the Fourth day (12.03. 2021) programme. The resource person has given her presentation on Songs In Dark Times: Bertolt Brecht’s Poetry.

JULIUS IRUDAYASAMY, ASSISSTANT PROFESSOR, COLLEGE OF ARTS AND APPLIED SCIENCES, DHOFAR UNIVERSITY, OMAN, was the resource person for the Fifth day (10.03. 2021) programme. The resource person has given his presentation on Best Practices In Teaching And Learning: As Teachers And Researchers

All the presentations have received many positive feedbacks and comments from the participants. With great ardor, all the resource persons have answered the questions of the participants. The Five-Day International Faculty Development Programme enlightened the participants how Language and literature express and reflect the feelings and emotions of any society and culture as they are the right tools to express humanistic and social values of any society and culture.
