HR CONCLAVE’ 21

Theme: Campus to corporate

College of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus in association with Business standard and Madras Management Association Organized HR Conclave’21 on the theme “Campus to Corporate” on 26/03/2021 at 9.45 am through Zoom meeting. Dr. R. Arulmozhi, Head of the Department  welcomed guests Mr.Charles Godwin, HR Leader and speaker, Zoho, Ms.Bavani Sivam, Founder, Samarthana Corporate Services, Mr.Lakshmi Narasimhan, General Manager – HRD, Brakes India Pvt Ltd, Ms.Yuvashree Rajasekaran, HR Executive, TCS and gave a brief note on topics  like Big data, Improving job applicants, Recruitment, etc,. In his presidential address Dr.C.Sundar, Dean of Science and Humanities thanked guests for being accepting invitation and further he highlighted the importance of conducting such kind of events and how these events improved student’s performance.

Session – 1

The guests for the session were Mr.Charles Godwin. He is a specialist in Talent Acquisition & Retention, Talent Management, Talent Engagement and currently working in ZOHO as HR leader. He addressed participants on the title”Trends in HRM and branding yourself”. Mr. Charles Godwin started the session with the saying: “Think beyond the classroom”. He started explaining how a HR vision should be by taking his CEO, Mr. Sridhar Vembu., as an example. Then he said that industries are not looking for peoples who prepare for first interview, it looks for lifelong preparation. Some highlights in his discussion were Choose whatever you want on your own, Do with passion, Learn from everybody, don’t compare, Believe in collaboration

Session – 2

Guest of the second session was Ms. Bavani sivam. She is the Founder and Director of Samarthana Corporate Services Pvt Ltd; an 8-year-old company providing Pan India Compliance, Payroll Services and obtaining different licenses for all Industries. She went through the topic “HR compliances- Issues and Challenges”. She focused her session on HR Facilities, Benefits for employees, Register and renew of compliance license, Government Regulations

Session  – 3

Mr.Lakshminarasimhan, General Manager – HRD, He is the General Manager (HR) of Brakes India Private Ltd. He started the session interactively with the students to say about what they learned in the last 1 hour. Then he went through the Topic “Skills required for new age managers. He said as a student; start to manage yourself so that in future you can manage others. He stressed upon some of the skills like be good in problem solving, Judge the motions and manage them, Innovation, Be good in communication, Critical thinking, Professional ethics. He concluded the session by saying, “Use the opportunity to be a successful manager”. He answered many queries raised by the students.

Session – 4

Ms. Yuvashree Rajasekaran, she is currently working as HR Executive at TCS Ltd was the guest speaker of the session. She addressed students on the topic “training and development trends and impact post pandemic. She started the session on explaining role of training in enhancing employee performance. She highlighted on innovative thinking, adapting to change, self motivation, learning, skill enhancement. She ended the session with a note, “keep on learning every day”. She answered all the questions raised by students.

Finally the event came to an end with vote of thanks proposed by Dr.P.Jyothi, Faculty Coordinator.
