ONE DAY WEBINAR ON “FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR YOUNG INVESTORS”

Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) organized one day webinar on “Financial Planning for Young Investors” as on 10th August 2021. The program aim to cover the following points: Need for financial planning at early age, so that youngsters can meet their financial needs. Various investment avenues in the Indian financial market. Precautions to be taken before making investments. Investment strategies to achieve the financial goals and how to start the investing.The program started with “Tamil Tai Valthu” followed by official welcome address by Dr. V. Deepa, Head i/c Department of Accounting & Finance.The Guest speaker Dr. P. Karthika, SEBI Resource Person & NCFE Trainer was introduced to the guest by Dr. R. Aarthi Alamelu, Coordinator. Dr. P. Karthika started the session with basic information towards investment. She explained about inflation, retirement planning, unplanned expenses and luxury spending for young investors. She further explained the strategy and tailored made financial goal which will achieve future financial destination. She gave a deep insight towards managing income, managing cash flow and build wealth. She quoted “A good investment planning has the potential of turning goals from dream in to reality”. Moving on, she also gave an insight “where one should not invest”. She elucidate the power of “compounding” and explained pension scheme, mediclaim policy, Ayushman Bharath Yojana Scheme etc., Further, she clarified about mutual fund, ELSS, SIP, Gold ETF and finally she gave an insight towards employment opportunity in capital market.
