The Department of English & other Foreign Languages, SRM IST, Ramapuram, instituted the Theatre club on July 31, 2021 and conducted an Online Singing competition “Alluring Voices” for the Higher Secondary and Undergraduate students.  The head of the department, Dr. V. Rema welcomed the chief guest, dignitaries and the gathering. The theatre club event was coordinated by the English faculty Mrs. K.C. Mythili. The Principal Dr. C. Sundar delivered inaugural address. The Chief guest and Music expert, Smt. Rajalakshmi Deepak presented the Office bearers to the audience and inducted them. Vice-Principal (Academics) Dr. N. Asokan and Vice-principal (Admin) Dr. J. Dhilipan offered their felicitations. There was a special musical performance by the President, Vice-President and Treasurer of the Theatre club. The chief Guest in her special address deliberated on how music can enhance one’s spiritual, physical and mental wellness. She entertained the gathering with her divine singing. Around 55 students from various schools and colleges participated in the Online singing contest. Our music expert shortlisted top 5 finalists out of 45 pure music performances. The top 5 contestants performed LIVE on virtual platform and the 3 best performers were selected by the chief guest. The event was very refreshing, lively and memorable.
