The Department of Visual Communication organized 6 days workshop on Video Editing using Adobe Premiere Pro for +2 and UG students from July 12,2021 to July 17 2021  by Mr.Jero Prasanth, Professional Non linear Editing Trainer, Chennai. Total 286 students registered for the workshop. Day 1 session started with the introduction about Video Editing – history, types of editing,types of video formats,types of softwares available and the benefits of using the application Adobe Premiere Pro. Mr.Jero Prashanth explained that Premiere Pro is the industry-leading video editing software for social sharing, TV, and film. He added that with Premiere Pro video editing software, we can edit footage in any format, from 8K to virtual reality. Day 2 to Day 5 demo classes were handled by the resource person. He discussed the following topics starting from 1.Organizing and starting a Premiere Pro project 2.Perform basic edits, arranging clips and working in multiple layers 3.Perform advanced edits using the toolbox, masks and blending techniques 4.Applying and adjusting video/audio effects5.Create custom graphics and texts 6.Making custom templates and using third party templates 7.Create custom animations and understand its mechanics 8.Mixing audio from speech, music and sound effects and 9.Exporting a video with the proper settings.

And Day 6 we had our Alumni student speaker Mr.Sivaprakash [2017-2020 batch] working as Assistant Editor in Ruben Edit Company shared his experiences and challenges in Digital Video Editing for movies. We ended up with a valedictory function where our Head of the Department Mr.S.Parthasarathy presented the welcome address and  Dr.C.Sundar, Principal, College Of Science And Humanities, Srm IST, Ramapuram gave the presidential address and appreciated the Department Head and faculty members for conducting useful workshops and webinars. The event was organized by Ms.P.Yuvarani, Asst Professor,Dept.of Visual Communication,SRM IST,Ramapuram Campus.
