The Department of Visual Communication organized Brand building activity – Webinar for +2 students on the topic “Visual Effects in Filmmaking” by Mr.Ranjith Kumar, VFX Specialist on 24^th July 2021. The guest speaker explained about in filmmaking, visual effects (VFX) is the creation or manipulation of any on-screen imagery that does not physically exist in real life. He also added VFX allows filmmakers to create environments, objects, creatures, and even people that would otherwise be impractical or impossible to film in the context of a live-action shot. The guest speaker showed compositing software Nuke and explained students in detail how the platform works for VFX techniques like Rotoscopy, Chromakeying and Color grading. He also discussed about job opportunities available in this field and purpose to join the course Visual Communication. The session was very interactive and useful to the students. The event was organized by Mr.B.Saravanan, Assistant Professor, Dept.of Visual Communication.
