Description of the Event/Objective:

 SRM Institute of Science and Technology, College of Management, Ramapuram Campus, organized a one day webinar on Government schemes to run and start an enterprise on 15-7-2020. The guest speaker of the day was Mr. V. Govindaraj, Deputy Director, MSME Development Institute, Government of India, Ministry of MSME, Guindy. In his keynote address the guest highlighted. More than 200 students and working professionals have participated in the event.

The scheme aims to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas of the country by setting up new self-employment ventures, projects or micro enterprises.

It also aims: l to provide continuous and sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans and rural and urban unemployed youth in the country, to help arrest migration of rural youth to urban areas.

l to increase wage earning capacity of artisans and contribute to increase in the growth rate of rural and urban employment.
