? Mr. R.Balachandar Team Lead, End Point Security, Sophos Technology started explaining about cyber security, Why cyber security? He explained about CIA-Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. Threats to cybercrime and Hacking. Types of cybercrime- computer assisted crime, Computer incidental crime and Computer as target crime. Motivated behind crime- Information theft and manipulating data, Demanding ransom, financial loss to the target, etc.
? Mr. Dr. Subbiah Swaminathan Professor, Department of Information Technology, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Thandlam, Chennai. Started interacting with the students about the types of hackers-White Hat Hackers, Black Hat Hackers, Grey Hat Hackers, Red Hat Hackers, Hacktivist, and Script Kiddie. He explained about the common attack in cybersecurity. He gives a brief explanation of cybersecurity works secure password, Antivirus, No Phishing, secure DNS, 2-way authentication, firewall etc. with an example. Motives behind cybercrime by getting financial loss to the target, demanding ransom etc.
? Mr.S.P.Praveen Cyber Security Expert, BCA Alumini (2020-2023) He gave a demo in Kali LINUX cyber security tool, and explain Why use Kali? – open-source distribution framework that can be used for penetrating testing and number of applications it supports like Dmitry, Metasploit framework offers significant variety of exploits with the collection of operating system with available version and service packs.
? Mr. Anand and Mr. Manivannan BCA Alumni (2020-2023), they discuss the placement experiences and share the difficulties faced in interviews.
Students clarified their doubts with the resource person and three days’ workshop was a very useful for students and staff.
